Genuine Youth Hostel Style Backpacker Accommodation

Welcome to Bournemouth-hostel provides information on genuine and affordable youth hostel style backpacker accommodation in the Bournemouth and Poole area of South East Dorset. We also provide general information on backpacking, hostelling, transport and local attractions you can visit while staying in a Bournemouth hostel.

Bournemouth Beach

There is one genuine backpacker hostel in Bournemouth which has been successfully trading since March 1999. Bournemouth Backpackers Hostel is located about 3 minutes walk from Bournemouth's main train and coach station known as the Travel Interchange. The hostel provides self-catering accommodation for visitors aged 18 and over and is fully approved with the appropriate planning permission from the local council, fire certificate and the necessary insurance.

Further information on activities, attractions, special offers and events at the hostel can be found on the hostel's Facebook page.

Beware of "hostel booking sites" which list "hostels" that are actually guest houses and hotels charging hotel prices! These booking sites are only interested in getting their commission, rather than offering you genuine budget hostel accommodation. Nearly all of these establishments do not have shared kitchens and few offer a social backpacker experience.

Getting to Bournemouth.

Bournemouth has excellent transport links to the rest of the U.K. with frequent trains services from London Waterloo railway station and regular bus services from London Victoria Coach Station, London Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted Airports. Cheap Jurassic Coast bus services (X53) also connect Poole to Exeter and Devon following a scenic route along the coast.

Attractions in the Area.

South East Dorset is a great place to base yourself while visiting the UK. There are miles of clean sandy beaches, great nightlife and casual work opportunities in local businesses. The pace of life is rather more relaxed here: if you want to get away from London to chill out and save some money staying in a hostel in Bournemouth can be recommended.

Brownsea Island Poole

There are many attractions within easy reach of Bournemouth. This includes the New Forest, Swanage and Purbeck, Dorchester, Weymouth and Southampton. Salisbury and Stonehenge as well as the Jurassic Coact. All these can all be done in a day trip from the hostel.

New Forest Hampshire

If you are from overseas and travelling alone you will meet like minded people in a similar situation and can make friends for life.
